Cryptocurrency
The Winona Community Foundation uses a third-party vendor to receive and convert cryptocurrency to cash on its behalf. Donating cryptocurrency involves transferring digital currency such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other cryptocurrencies directly to a nonprofit organization. This type of donation is becoming increasingly popular due to its potential tax benefits and the rising acceptance of cryptocurrencies by charitable organizations.
Gifts-in-kind of materials and serviceÂ
Gifts-in-kind are non-cash donations of materials or services. These contributions can be incredibly valuable as they reduce the need for monetary funding and provide essential resources.
Email Trempealeau Village Administrator Isaac Pooler regarding in-kind giving.
Qualified Charitable Distribution
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a direct transfer of funds from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity. This type of distribution allows individuals who are 70½ years or older to donate up to $100,000 per year to charities directly from their IRA without having to include the distribution in their taxable income.
